For our second edition we stop over in vibrant Amsterdam where American singer, songwriter, model and DJ MAAD created a playlist inspired by her stay at Sonder Park House.
MAAD’s creative process in her own words:
MAAD: Amsterdam is a city unlike any other. During my stay at Sonder Park House I was so inspired by some of the city’s most vibrant and eclectic neighborhoods, including De Pijp, Vondelpark, Amsterdam Noord, and Jordaan. Each of these areas had its own unique atmosphere and energy, which influenced the songs and artists I chose for my playlist.
De Pijp and Jordaan, with their cool and fashionable vibes, inspired me to include tracks that were upbeat, edgy, and full of energy, like “On the Run” by Kelela and “Heated” by Beyonce. Meanwhile, the laid-back and creative atmosphere of Vondelpark and Amsterdam Noord encouraged me to include more eclectic and experimental tracks, like “Time (You and I)” by Khruangbin and “Eventually” by myself.
My aim was to curate a playlist that reflects the excitement, creativity, and coolness of Amsterdam, while also highlighting the versatility of musical genres. I hope this playlist captures the distinctiveness and vibrancy that makes Amsterdam a truly unique destination.

About MAAD:
MAAD is an artist you want to familiarize yourself with now! The American singer, songwriter, model and DJ first achieved success as a solo act known for working with the likes of Luke James, Kelis, Aluna, MNEK, Janelle Monae and Midas Hutch. New York-born, New Jersey-raised.. MAAD became enamored by the art of self-expression growing up, finding inspiration in her father’s talents as a musician and her mother’s charismatic work as a stylist.
While working on original music and finding her footing, DJing emerged as an organic next step, leading her to garner a notable client list featuring the likes of Marc Jacobs, Tiffany & Co., Cartier, Alo, Samsung, Laura Mercier, Piaget, Liquid IV and Spotify at Cannes Lion where she opened up for Nas, Swizz Beatz, Bebe Rexa and Tove Lo.
In tandem with her work as a DJ, MAAD remained steadfast in her journey to establish herself as a singer-songwriter, releasing 2017’s Lè Funk, 2018’s Technicolor, 2020’s Eventually Pt. 1 and as of recent exploring the alt-electro r&b genre as 1/2 of musical duo, RM47. In addition to accumulating a wide range of accolades in music, MAAD has also modeled for and been featured by YSL Cosmetics, Milk Makeup, Perfect Magazine, Good American, VFiles, i-D, Wonderland, Schön!, Notion, ELLE, NYLON, Anastasia Beverly Hills and A Peace Treaty x Vogue.
Approaching every gig, brand partnership and collaboration as an opportunity to live her purpose, MAAD is winning over new audiences with her undeniable talent, infectious charm and the welcoming sincerity she exudes. Currently based in Los Angeles, MAAD is happily navigating a sonic landscape accented by alternative R&B, pop and contemporary dance music, creating a distinctive sound that is reflective of her overall radiance.
