Sonder launches the future of hospitality in Atlanta

Sonder | Atlanta – One Baltimore

Atlanta is rich in history and culture, whether that be its diverse musical heritage or charming southern hospitality. Today, we’re excited to announce two new, hotel-licensed, Sonder spaces in the area that seamlessly blends the historic, yet modern, feel of Atlanta.

The Grant, the second oldest skyscraper in Atlanta, is set to open in August 2021 in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. Inspired by Victorian-style buildings, Sonder’s 165 units feature marble interiors which work in unison with Sonder’s modern technology to create an elegant aesthetic for travelers. The Grant combines the district’s pedestrian scale, unique architecture, and tree-lined streets creating a  vibe found nowhere else in the downtown area.

“As a global hospitality brand that puts interior design and modern service at the forefront of every travel experience, I’m thrilled to welcome Sonder to Atlanta,” said Councilmember Amir Farokhi, who represents downtown and midtown neighborhoods. “Revitalizing a historical property like The Grant will breathe new life into downtown and enable visitors to experience the history of the city in an authentic way. Projects like this are essential to the future growth and development of Atlanta.”

A luxury apartment complex featuring high ceilings, sleek finishes, and views of the city, 549 Peachtree is located between the bustle of midtown and the heart of downtown. Scheduled to open in March 2020, this complex offers guests exclusive access to a fitness center, a coffee and juice bar and free parking—not to mention the building is walking distance from popular restaurants and shops.

“Sonder’s expansion into the historic Fairlie-Poplar neighborhood will create more opportunities for visitors and locals alike to authentically experience the heart of Downtown,” shared A.J. Robinson, President of Central Atlanta Progress/Atlanta Downtown Improvement District. “The revitalization of The Grant Building helps preserve Downtown’s character and roots, while also enabling local businesses to introduce new retail offerings to our community.”

Sonder’s growth in Atlanta doesn’t stop with these 365 units. Sonder also introduced luxury multi-floor penthouses at One Baltimore in January of 2020, where guests can currently stay. By the end of the year, Sonder will operate an additional 50-100 units within the Atlanta market, and in 2021, Sonder plans to add another 300 units.
